The Underrated Hero of Great Sex 😈💦

HOW ESSENTIAL IS LUBE FOR GOOD SEX?
Growing up I swear I never heard the mention of Lube 💦, it just wasn't something I read too much about in Dolly, Cosmo or Cleo. So clearly once starting to be sexual I just assumed we would all be such organically lubricated beings we wouldn't need any sort of help in that department - yeahhhhhh I was WRONG!

If you learn nothing else from this Lube info - pop this in your brain right now....

  1. You can be aroused and not lubricated naturally (ie your vagina isn't wet) 🏜️

  2. You can be not aroused (I don't know if there's an opposite word for it) and be wet.. 💦

Now you might be all what the heck Courtney?! This can't be right......!??!?! I'm turned on so I MUST be wet or i'm dryer than the dessert so clearly i'm not turned on....

Yes my babes I can toats excuse you for thinking like that - I too fell victim to that way of thinking for a verrryyy long time, up until I studied sex and sought to learn all the things I could find on sex + relationships 🙏🏼.
LUBRICATION IS YOUR BEDROOM BESTIE 💧🌵

This is where I tell you to slow down and tune into your body - like really listen. Sure you can use your own wettness as an indication about your arousal but don't let it be the ONLY thing that tells you if you're keen or not. (I'll do another article about tuning into your body to keep that sorta stuff together.)
Don't be put off and assume lube isn't for you before you try it - my advice is to try a whollllllleeeee bunch of them to see what you like.

I've made it no secret i'm now working with a bloody fab sex toy company so message me if you're in the market to replenish your stocks or just want to try something new.

TYPES OF LUBES

  1. Water-Based Lubricants

    • features:
      • Easily absorbed by the skin and can be reactivated with water or saliva.
      • Non-staining and easy to clean.
      • Compatible with all sex toys and condoms.

  2. Silicone-Based Lubricants

    • features:
      • Long-lasting and silky smooth texture.
      • Not absorbed by the skin, meaning you don't need to keep running for more like you do with water-based lubes.
      • Not easily washed away by water, making it ideal for use in water which is fab if shower sex or play in the bath is your thing
    • Caution: Not recommended for use with silicone sex toys as it can degrade the material over time.

  3. Oil-Based Lubricants

    • features:
      • Thick and moisturizing, which gives a natural feel.
      • Long-lasting and can double as a massage oil - obvs if you like the smell and feel of it
    • Caution: Not compatible with latex condoms or certain sex toys, as it can cause damage or breakage.

  4. Hybrid Lubricants

    • features:
      • A mix of water-based and silicone-based lubes, offering the best of both worlds.
      • Long-lasting like silicone but easier to clean than pure silicone.
    • Caution: Check compatibility with silicone toys before using it with them.

  5. Natural/Organic Lubricants

    • features:
      • Made with natural ingredients and free from synthetic additives, parabens, and glycerin.
      • Gentle on the skin and often hypoallergenic.
    • Caution: Check the ingredient list for potential ingredients that might irritate you.

WHICH ONE IS RIGHT FOR ME?

  • For Sensitive Skin: Opt for water-based or natural/organic lubricants, avoiding those with glycerin, parabens, or fragrances.

  • For Anal Sex: Silicone-based lubricants are often preferred due to their longevity and thickness. You need lube support when experiencing anal play because your anus isn't self lubricating like your Vagina.

  • For Use with Condoms: Water-based and silicone-based lubes are compatible with condoms; avoid oil-based lubes. ALWAY read the labels to confirm.

  • For Use with Sex Toys: Water-based lubes are safe for all toys. If using silicone toys, choose water-based or hybrid lubes specifically marked as toy-safe.

  • For Sex in Water: Silicone-based lubricants are ideal as they do not wash away easily, however remember to wipe out the bath when you're finished because it will leave it verrrryyyy slippery.

  • For Extended SEX sessions: Silicone-based or hybrid lubricants provide longer-lasting lubrication with less need for reapplication.
If you learned something from this that's FAB! Hit me up with any questions you have!
